Thibodaux woman charged after assaulting video poker casino workers, authorities say

A Thibodaux woman was arrested over the weekend after physically assaulting a security guard and cashier at Labadieville video poker casino, authorities said.

Wendy A. Doyle, 58, is charged with two counts of simple assault, disturbing the peace, public intimidation and possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called out Saturday afternoon to a Labadieville video poker outlet to investigate a report that Doyle had become unruly, spit on a cashier and physically assaulted a security officer, authorities said.

The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated, also made threats to the deputies while being interviewed, the Sheriff’s Office said. Based on the evidence and security video footage, she was taken into custody and was booked into the Assumption Parish jail.

A bond has not yet been set.
